Sebring, Fla. (20-21 February 2018) – Returning series champion Kelly-Moss Road and Race (KMR) is preparing a field of eight drivers and cars for the 2018 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama season. Winter testing is underway this week at Sebring International Raceway.
The KMR crew is eager to defend last year’s championship on the track, as 2018 marks the 30th year of competition for the Madison, WI based team. Kelly-Moss has competed in every event since the series’ inception, and is determined to produce another winning season in 2018.
“Our young driver Roman DeAngelis is running both the US and Canadian GT3 Cup series”, stated Jeff Stone, KMR team owner and competition director. The seventeen-year-old Roman will run the US series representing Racing for Children’s, Children’s Hospital of Alabama and Medical Properties Trust.
Kelly-Moss Road and Race will support Roman for the eight US races with its full KMR team. For the Canadian GT3 Cup races, both Jeff Stone and Team Engineer Chiel Bos will be assisting the Mark Motors team with strategy and engineering.
Returning for 2018 in the Gold class are Kurt Fazekas and Greg Palmer, as well as Wayne and David Ducote, who always prove to be an exciting father/son duo to watch. “Wayne Ducote is 73 years young and the team powerhouse,” said Stone.
Alan Metni will be stepping up to the Platinum class in a new 2018 car this season.
The KMR crew is very excited and proud to be carrying the banner for Racing for Children’s throughout the team and look forward to another great year of competition.
“The 2018 IMSA season looks to have some very strong competition throughout the field in all three classes, with a lot of great drivers on track and some very strong teams competing once again,” said Stone.
