Rene Robichaud has been racing since he young. As a child in his hometown of Fredericton in New Brunswick, Canada he learned to race Bombardier Ski-Doos. He married his wife Karen in 1984 and in 1992, upon deciding that he was working too hard, she sent him to the Skip Barber Racing School. In 1992 The Robichauds decided to move to the states and call Cincinnati their home. Rene has a daughter, Nicole, who races with him in the GT4 CS Series East and a son, Chris, who he calls his fishing buddy. Rene’s favorite racing memory was his first Grand Am Rolex race with Co Driver BJ Zacharias in May of 2007 at Mid Ohio when they were in 4th place with 20 minutes to go.
Rene is a businessman who is fortunate enough to have had several career tracks including being the president of two publicly traded companies and having fifteen years experience as an investment banker. He also has an MBA from Harvard University. In addition to racing, Rene has a love for hockey and has been playing for over 50 years. He plays hockey for the Cincinnati FOG Hockey team. Rene’s favorite quote is, “Power tends to corrupt. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.” – Lord Acton.
